What can you bring to our special day?

Over the past 37 years, I have seen all sides of weddings, not only as a registered civil celebrant, but also as a hair stylist, makeup artist, a photographers’ assistant and through my experience as a domestic and international tour manager specialising in remote and inspired travel. I have a wealth of experience in many facets of what combines well to make a special occasion for you and your guests. My role on the day is to take care of the legal side of things and ensure the ceremony is everything you want it to be so you can enjoy the celebration. I can also take care of your personal hair and makeup needs to create just the look you would like. I will be there for you.

What do you love most about being a civil celebrant?

Being a civil celebrant allows me to get to know a great variety of people. I enjoy working with them to create a ceremony to capture the essence of their lives and relationships.

What makes a wedding ceremony extra special?

No two ceremonies are ever the same. The more elements involved, the larger the room for the unexpected. Sometimes the simplest of ceremonies can be the most impressive. Never lose sight of why you are getting married, then you won’t get caught up in the little things, making the whole experience a joy.

What makes Maleny such a special place to celebrate one of life’s most treasured moments?

As a Maleny local, I may be a little biased. For anyone who has visited Maleny, I’m sure you will agree it is a beautiful area with a relaxed community feel. We have many varied gorgeous settings throughout the hinterland. With the Sunshine Coast only 35 minutes down the hill we offer endless opportunities to inspire you.

In choosing the Sunshine Coast or Hinterland as a celebration destination, you will be spoilt for choice as the area offers a myriad of locations suitable for any style of wedding such as vintage, bohemian, rustic, garden party, urban chic, beach or traditional.

What happens if I meet you for an obligation free chat and decide not to go ahead?

That’s no problem. It’s important to me that you have the right celebrant for you. There are lots of us out there, so you are bound to find the right person for you.

There are celebrants who charge less than you

There are celebrants who charge more, some who charge less. For me, each wedding takes a lot of preparation time; writing a ceremony can be a lengthy process to get it just right. I like to liaise with not only you the couple but your family and friends. I offer that as part of my service. I can do this in person or via phone call, FaceTime or Skype.

I also offer a ceremony for those who want to “just make it legal”. This style of ceremony suits couples who wish to marry with the addition of only two witnesses and myself present.

Do you conduct same sex ceremonies?

Absolutely. I am a believer in LGBTI rights and actively support same sex marriage.
